Haiku

I am studying haiku, studying its structure, and the elements inside. The traditional structure is said to be very simple, it has three lines in one stanza - the first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables and the last line has 5 syllables, altogether 17 syllables. So while I was reading the translated version of Japanese Haiku in English, I found myself wondering what is it about haiku that wows everyone?

Look at this example;

Japanese version:
Harusameya
Kuwarenokorino
Kamoga naku
(Issa)

Translated version:
Spring rain -
Wild ducks yet uneaten
Quack.

We can see that haiku is as simple as that.
Simple wordings, 3 lines with 5-7-5 syllables.
And it seems like it doesn't make any sense after all.

Then I saw this joke about haiku on the internet.

Haikus are easy.
But sometimes they don't make sense.
Refrigerator.

Ahahahahaha
Don't know who did it but it really is funny.
The person made that sentences into a haiku.

Congratz!!
Ahahahahahahahaha
